Blog #38 Exploring Your Sexuality Through Kink

How To Build a Safe Container to Explore Sexuality Through Kink.

Exploring Your Sexuality Through Fantasy

Kink offers us lots of ways to explore our inner desires, fantasies, and subsconcious unmet needs.

TWO CORE PILLARS of kink allow this to be possible. Fantasy AND real trusting human connection.

Fantasy

The fantasy in BDSM - aka the things you think about and fantasize about in kink - does not have to be real. In your own mind, in the roleplays you do with others its exactly that. Roleplay. Like theater. As kids imaginative, creative play is the foundation for creative expression, learning, and making sense of the world around you. We did not hit puberty and suddenly no longer need this in our lives. NO. Even as adults we still need a place to explore imaginative, creative play with others. For SOME people this manifests at their work, for some through video games, or making art, reading books - and for some select few it manifests through KINK.

Fantasy in Kink. The great part about fantasy is it gives us permission to be people we wouldn’t typically be. And it gives us permission to DO things we wouldn’t typically do. So that is why doing something like explore new genders (e.g., sissification, objectification) or new sexualities (e.g., forced bi, cuckholding) is fun, erotic, and tempting to our little pervert brains. It is FUN and honestly, its a good way for our subsconscious to run free and feel cathartic.

TRUSTING HUMAN CONNECTION

Our fetishes and kinks and fantasies can and should bring us closer together. Building a trusting D/s dynamic with someone you are kink-sexually compatible with is the core of kink and BDSM. It’s through trust where we can be vulnerable, experimental, and ultimately seen and accepted.

It is very very common for people to explore their sexualities in their lifetimes. Exploring one’s sexuality through kink is a great way to make sexual exploration fun. Exploring one’s sexuality doesn’t make or mean you’re gay - it just means you’re a curious person! Which is absolutely normal. Being able to explore your sexuality with others is a very fun way to both gather more information about yourself and also destigmatize it. Exploring your sexuality through kink with others may feel very scary, but finding the right people to explore with can be incredibly transformative, connective and liberating.
